As Nation Faces Supply Chain Crisis, Port of Baltimore Is “Adding More Ships And Running Smoothly”

As the nation continues to face economic disruptions from the backlog of cargo ships, the Port of Baltimore is running smoothly and adding additional ships to help address the supply chain crisis.

According to a report in Fox Business, the Baltimore port has added two new container ships in recent weeks. The number of containers at the port has increased by 12% year of year. Under Governor Hogan, Maryland has made key strategic investments in the vital infrastructure of the Port, including a recent dredging project to allow two massive container ships to tie up at the Port at once. U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg even recently visited the Port of Baltimore to view this success.

While Washington’s failure to build infrastructure for the 21st century is continuing to threaten the nation’s economy, Maryland is once again leading on making smart, forward-looking, and strategic investments.
