Washington Post Editorial Board: Governor Hogan’s Traffic Relief Plan Offers “Best Way Forward”
An editorial from The Washington Post praises Governor Hogan’s traffic relief program as the “best way forward” for Maryland. Governor Hogan is continuing to advance this vital transit project, which would “rebuild and widen the nearly 60-year-old American Legion Bridge over the Potomac, and connect it to new high-occupancy toll lanes to widen the adjoining portion of the Beltway and Interstate 270 north to Frederick.” Under Governor Hogan’s leadership, Maryland has moved forward on all the top priority transportation projects in the state.
This comes as Governor Hogan is set to testify to the Senate Environment and Public Works committee on Wednesday about a national infrastructure program. As chairman of the National Governors Association, Governor Hogan led a national initiative focused on fixing U.S. infrastructure and released a report on best practices for infrastructure reform based on extensive consultation with the nation’s governors and industry leaders.
